We recently announced that Business Language Services (BLS) is opening a second office in Glasgow.
We are proud to be able to support individuals, organisations and businesses in Scotland and beyond with their language requirements. Our extensive range of language services includes translation, interpreting, certified translation, localisation, voiceover, subtitles, language training and more. We work in all major languages, including Scots Gaelic.
To celebrate the opening of our Glasgow office, we spoke to Ciera Doohan, the Project Manager spearheading this exciting new development for BLS.
Why do you think Glasgow is a good fit for the next BLS office?
Our Glasgow office is strategically located to allow us to serve Scotland and the north of the UK better. While we work predominantly online, some clients prefer a face-to-face approach, and our Glasgow office allows us to provide a more personal service.
Glasgow is a city of many languages and cultures, and at BLS we are keen to use our linguistic expertise to support this thriving and diverse community.
We recognise our ability to support the flourishing food and drink, technology and engineering, creative, and medical and life sciences sectors in the city, as we have expert knowledge in all these areas.
Just like we do at our head office in Cardiff, we look forward to supporting local charities, individuals, organisations, businesses and universities and colleges with their language requirements.
What skills and services do you think BLS can offer to people, organisations and businesses in Glasgow?
We offer an extensive range of language services, which includes translation, interpreting, certified translation, localisation, voiceover, subtitling, language training and more. Our extensive range of language pairs means we can support Glasgow’s diverse population, and our expertise in Celtic languages, including Scots Gaelic, allows us to support those wanting to communicate bilingually in Scotland.
What do you think the Glasgow office can learn from our Cardiff office?
BLS has long been established in the Welsh business community, having been founded in 1990. What started as a language training company soon moved into translation and the extensive range of services we offer today. We have a long-standing relationship with our clients, who come to us for our quality, fair prices, and friendly and fast service.
Our approach is centred around four main principles: native speakers, client-focused approach, quality and technology. You can find out more about that here.
Whilst we work in all major languages, our location in Wales has meant that we have gained extensive experience and expertise in Celtic languages, including Welsh, Irish Gaelic and Scots Gaelic. We support many organisations, businesses, universities, law firms, charities and large tech firms with their Welsh language requirements.
What plans do you have for the next 12 months?
BLS plans to get involved with the thriving Glasgow business community and network with local organisations and businesses.
Just as we support our local community in Cardiff, we plan to do the same in Glasgow; whether that’s supporting charities, working with local language students or volunteering in the community.
