A few months ago, we organised a French and German course through the ReAct Scheme. This Welsh Assembly scheme funds training for people who have been made redundant and would benefit from learning new skills before starting a new job.

In January 2011, we started another training programme, also funded by the Welsh Assembly. One of our South-Wales-based clients, involved in the manufacturing of military equipment, has recently applied successfully to Skills Growth Wales. This scheme, supported by the European Social Fund, can offer eligible companies in Wales up to £3,000 per member of staff towards training. To be eligible, a company must demonstrate that, thanks to this funded training, it will have an impact on helping to revitalise the economic market.

Our client has therefore been able to fund Business French bespoke training for two one-to-one courses (including the company’s Managing Director) and a one-to-two course, at complete beginner, post beginner and improver level. Each “group” will initially be receiving 30 hours of training, and has budget to extend the course for more hours.

Your company and your staff might be eligible too, so don’t hesitate to enquire with the Welsh Assembly! Please visit their relevant page at http://business.wales.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?itemId=5001565464&site=230&type=RESOURCES or phone them on their dedicated Business Skills Hotline number, on 0845 60 661 60. If you are found not to be eligible for that scheme, you might still benefit from others so it is worth enquiring.
