Cardiff-born football star, Gareth Bale, the most expensive footballer in history, will be returning to his hometown for the 2014 UEFA Super Cup on 12 August. He will be performing for the Champions League winners, Real Madrid, who will be up against the winners of the Europa Cup, Sevilla FC, as Cardiff City Stadium play host to the exciting all-Spanish clash.
Cardiff City will be only the second city to host this event outside of Monaco since 1995 and is busy preparing itself for the masses of Spanish aficionados that will be flooding the streets and bars of the city centre, secure in the knowledge that their trip will reflect Spanish football in a better light than the achievements of their national team at the World Cup in Rio.
Bale, who moved to Madrid last year to join the high-flying Galácticos of Real Madrid, surprised everyone after speaking Spanish during his presentation speech in front of a stadium full of Real fans. He might even find himself interpreting between Spanish and English on behalf of some of his fellow team members during their visit!
