This month we celebrate David Meredith. Read on to find out more about David.

David Meredith

David has a bachelor’s degree in Law with German Law (LLB) from London University and a master’s degree in German Commercial Law (LLM) from Humboldt University in Berlin. He worked at the European Parliament and European Commission before pursuing a successful business career in the UK, Germany and the US. He later studied translation before combining his love for business, law and language. Given his extensive experience in the sector, David is one of our go-to linguists for legal and business translations.

David’s favourite thing about working in translation is knowing that his work helps English speakers navigate complex information originally written in another language. Whether it’s helping understand a terms of business agreement or a legal contract, he loves the challenge of distilling technical jargon into precise yet clear and understandable English. This time of year is always extremely busy for David: translating financial documents, compliance reports, etc. as well as sustainability reporting under the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

David’s translation career has given him a lot of flexibility. He moved to the coast where he spends his time away from the office walking his dogs along the beach or cycling along the coast. He has continued to learn languages as a hobby, and is currently learning Swedish and Ukrainian. He spends a lot of time reading, listening to or watching foreign language content, so every day is multilingual, whether it is for work or for pleasure.
