We are pleased to announce that BLS has recently successfully achieved ISO 9001 certification. The standard will help us to formalise our quality policy and procedures whilst helping to shape future business development and increase customer satisfaction levels.

As part of our certification, you will soon start to see the ISO logo on official communications, including quotes and in our email signatures, and we will also be conducting a survey of existing customers to gather valuable feedback on the services that we provide.

In order to achieve certification, the quality procedures at BLS were audited in depth, assessing how we monitor, improve and maintain consistently high levels of quality in all three key business areas: translation, interpreting and language training. The assessors were extremely satisfied with the methods and procedures already in place at BLS and also recommended further action we could take to maintain these and also to examine more closely how customers feel about the services that we provide. As part of this new certification, we will undergo annual auditing as well as biannual checks to ensure that we are still fulfilling the criteria of the certification.

Some of the improvements we are hoping to see as a result of implementing ISO 9001 are:

  • We will be passing on feedback that we get from customers directly to our translators in a more formal and regular manner, thereby helping them to continue their professional development whilst making sure that a translator is given positive feedback for specific projects.
  • On the rare occasions that we do experience problems with a project, we will be conducting formal reviews to establish the root causes and to put in place actions and improve procedures to prevent reoccurrences.
  • We will be changing some of the ways that we currently record and search information, meaning quicker response times for you.
